Nelson Burgos

Nelson is a Chilean born chef with over 20 years of hospitality experience spanning across, Melbourne, Sydney & Singapore. Nelson’s love for hospitality was born while working on some of Australia’s pioneer restaurants, including The Press Club, Fratelli fresh (Danks st) & Mamasita. After spending some time as APAC Executive chef for TFE hotels, Nelson relocated to Singapore where he headed up The Loco group, a selection of Mexican restaurants in Singapore & Jakarta, before returning  home to Australia. In 2023, Nelson moved to the neighbourhood to open Bar Andino - a small local’s bar serving up a delicious array of empanadas along with a selection of all time favourite dishes. 

Over the years, Nelson has had the privilege of passing on his skills to others through various cooking schools including the Electrolux cooking schools, Sydney seafood school, hidden door experiences as well as appearing on Maeve O'meara Food Safari Fire on SBS.
